Not as pretty as advertised

I chose this particular seat because it has 3 side pockets and it seemed like a nice feature, when traveling with your pet maybe the only good thing feature he has . After buying these things for a few days, it seemed like they were all basically the same. But in real life he turned out to be a lot flimsier than I thought. With my dog (13-15 lb dox) he sagged significantly and didn't feel secure. My dog was nervous about not having a solid floor underneath (even after I added a 2" memory foam pillow and fluffy blanket). Eventually I rolled a "car blanket" underneath and that solved the problem, but I wish there wasn't an issue that needed fixing. However, it fits in well, lots of space. There's a tiny pillow underneath for short trips, but hours on an overland tour will never be enough. mostly metal, but be aware that this is very cheap, brittle metal. Adjustable straps adjust exactly where you put them, they loosen on their own. Car Accident Rescue Plan I doubt this seat will stay in place during a crash, those cheap plastic snaps and cheap metal things are more likely to break under the G- force of the accident together, or at least the stitching could rip or your adjustable straps rip out - and if that's all your dog is attached to, then he's going to fly. just a dedicated spot for a bite to sit and look out the window, it will work well enough but wouldn't rush to recommend it. This should prevent accidental escapes when we stop to refuel or something. I don't expect it to last very long but I hope it will last long enough for this summer vacation. However, get a harness for your pet and tie it to your car's harness, don't tie your dog to that chair and expect some sort of safety measure if his life depends on it.
