I had to throw away a Chicago Metallic pan that served me well for several years before the coating wore off. I wanted a pan that was free of known carcinogens and made entirely of solid metal. I was hoping to find cast iron, but this skillet caught my attention as it was made in the US in nearby Steel City, and it was the first one that sold me. The design features seemed well thought out and the fact that it is coated PTFE, PFOA and BPA free. I just finished my first batch of paleo popovers with this and I love it! Barely rubbed every jar with ghee and they came out effortlessly. They baked very evenly and had all the fabulous properties that popovers are known for. I went to the manufacturer's website and was impressed that they offer a lifetime guarantee on their bakeware. Well-made USA bakeware!
