Not enough space, not very flexible. Simply dense and compact. Not useful for children and their textbooks. If you expect a lot of text and homework, this bag will NOT fit all books. The side pockets for drinking bottles are also not flexible. Instead of expanding outward as the bottle is pushed in, the bottle is actually pushed into the pouch. So if the bag is full of books or whatever, the side pocket will be too narrow for any water bottle. If you still try to put a drinking bottle in the side pocket, the side pocket mesh will tear. Not too heavy duty for side mesh pockets.
