I bought two of these - one pink and one orange - for my two dogs and used them 3 times a week (± 1 hour per walk) for the two weeks I had them . Both collars needed trimming and that was easy enough to do with sharp scissors. (Note: the material is strong and durable - it takes muscle to cut through, but it's not difficult.) One of the reasons I chose this collar over the buckle model (which I've used before) is because of the light is visible from all directions. , even if it rotates a little at the neck. That's still a compelling argument for my book. They're also bright enough to be seen from a distance, and I appreciate the three different lighting modes (continuous, fast flash, slow flash). While I personally like fast flashing, I don't like using it in an environment where there are a lot of other dogs or people because it can be overstimulating for some. Another advantage of this model was the possibility of recharging it. I didn't have to charge either collar during the two weeks I wore them and they were still glowing brightly after ±7 hours of use. white plastic"hub". It's a snug fit, but there's nothing blocking/ensuring it stays secure. This bothered me when I first put the collars on, but there were no problems the first time I wore them. However, on my second adventure, I noticed that one of the collars came off as my dog roamed through the bushes and trees. I reattached it before it could come loose and it returned to the car without removing it. However, when I got home, I noticed the other dog wasn't wearing a collar, although I remembered turning it off when she got in the car. I suspect it came loose during the shaking because I found it in the back seat (dogs are kept in the luggage compartment). After noticing how easily both collars came off after moderately active play, I tried to check that the collar was secure every time the dogs came back to me. Despite my best efforts, both collars managed to fall off during exploration. One was lost at a dog park and someone was kind enough to give it lost and find where I returned it. The reunion was brief, however, because the next day he fell again while walking. They may be best suited to dogs that are kept in an area with no trees/bushes or that are only kept on a leash. And maybe for dogs that don't tremble. ;-) If your dog is active, playing/fighting with other dogs or running through bushes/trees I would not recommend this model. I chose this model based on the features, reviews, and price. I'm kicking myself for letting price be the deciding factor because now I've lost $20 and need to buy new collars that not only shine but last!
