Review on πŸš— Audiovox APS997 Remote Security System: Shock Sensor, Extended Range Remote Start by Prestige by Eric Owens

Revainrating 4 out of 5

APS997 offers security/remote start/keyless entry and more

I installed it myself (I found wiring diagrams for my car online) and you need to be an intermediate level electrician (shade tree mechanism) or higher to view diagrams to be able to read. The keyless door entry was the most difficult part to install, which may require professional help and additional parts for an inexperienced installer (the $12 door relay is not included). It took me two weekends to get the wiring right (remote start one day, door worked fine two days later). After it worked, it's really "WOW!" to me. The siren wakes the living dead. The shock sensor is highly sensitive (feels the impact of a soft soccer ball on the car). The temperature reader is built into the module and you can press the button on the LCD remote control to display the accurate temperature (F or C) inside the car. Can be programmed to start remotely when the temperature drops below a certain temperature (to keep the engine from freezing). The 2nd remote control has 5 buttons, the 5th button is for the built-in LED flashlight (almost blinding on little things). Beautifully crafted, durable carbon fiber remote controls. I had a small issue with a remote start not working after 5 months but Audiovox were happy to exchange the module for me when I called and sent the module back. Hope the new module will last longer, no quality problem.
