First, I look more like Fred Flintstone than a basketball player. If like me you hate below knee shorts then you will love these. I'm 5'10", 220 pounds and I love squat racks. I bought the 6 inch inseam version and I really like it. The material is very light but nice enough that I can wear it on a hike or a picnic. Lots of pockets too. I usually go around a 34 waist but bought 36 and was glad I did. 38 probably wouldn't hurt either. Size 36 fits me but I don't like baggy so no complaints. I can't imagine better hiking pants! I would buy shorts a size above your normal waist (Fit Small) as they don't have much stretch and don't stretch when worn like cotton shorts. If you are over 6ft I would go for a 10" inseam otherwise they will look like rugby balls on you. Amazon lists a 6 inch inseam and based on how they look on me I would rate the model at around 6ft1. Finally, since the material is not durable, you can buy an extra pair if you are an outdoor enthusiast. Wear fishing, hiking, camping. they will most likely wear out. They're not heavy, but that's not what I bought them for. Best shorts I've worn in years. I buy a pair in each color!
