I actually bought this kit for keyhole installation. My previous surround speakers had threaded bottoms, so I used a VideoSecu kit to mount them. This kit had keyhole mounting hardware as I envisioned, but it was very unstable for my new larger speakers. This kit comes with a much stronger plate for the keyhole configuration. As you can see from the pictures, the larger plate allows for a tighter and more even attachment of the speaker to the back of the speaker. I ended up screwing the VideoSecu base to the wall because it's metal and not plastic. I then simply screwed the new plate onto the existing ball mount. With each kit I would cut the threads coming out of the mounting ball to make it shorter. If you don't change it, your speakers will stick out a few inches from the wall. To be honest, buying both kits is still cheaper than buying a hanging solution from the manufacturer. If you change speakers frequently, buy both sets. If you have keyhole mounts, buy this kit at a mono price. If you have threaded speakers, choose VideoSecu.
