Review on Electric Sharpener Portable Sharpeners Classroom Painting, Drawing & Art Supplies by Michelle Langley

It does not sharpen smoothly

Pros: It's cute and adorable and looks great on the table. It's small and unobtrusive and even comes with an extra blade insert so you can replace it when the sharpener gets dull. It is practical that it can be connected to a USB port. So far, so good. The settings seem to work (from "blunt"/round end to sharp/pointed end - your choice of sharpening style). Cons: It just doesn't work for me. I stuck a partially dull pencil into the sharpener and instead of sharpening it cleanly, he snatched the pencil from my hand and started twisting it. I didn't have to choke the pencil to keep it still to sharpen. He even broke the edge of my pencil and ripped a piece of wood from the pencil lead to the color of the pencil (behind the shaved/sharpened exposed part of the wood) down to the lead itself. Of course the pencil shaft broke as soon as I pressed it against the paper, as most of the wooden backing was missing. Three stars. The one I got might just have a dull blade, but I'm not sure the motor is powerful enough to sharpen a pencil smoothly and comfortably. I think this will get the job done with a sharper blade, but I just don't want to put as much effort into a pencil sharpener. This is an adorable little sharpener, but it needs to be sharp and work more smoothly.

Pros
  • Optional power supplies: Powered by 2 AA batteries (not included) and USB charging possible. Very flexible and convenient to use anywhere. And you don't have to worry about the weight, it's easy to carry.
Cons
  • A few little things
