I had never used a hair mask before so I didn't know what to expect. This product has the consistency of a lotion that you apply to your hair before bed. I'm happy to report that it dries quickly and doesn't stain the entire pillow. It has a pleasant smell that isn't too overpowering just before bedtime. My biggest problem is that I have hair down to the middle of my back and since it's like a lotion I need so much product to apply it all over my head. . I just don't feel like I get much benefit from this product because of that.
