Love this bag! good for me

This may be the best travel accessory I've ever purchased. I love traveling through Mexico and do so on a budget which means I end up staying at hostels or random little hotels where I typically trust nobody. As most of these lack in-room safes, I was on the lookout for a safe way to store my laptop, camera, travel documents and cash while I was away rather than simply hiding it and hoping for the best. So, I found this product and decided to give it a shot for my last trip to 6 different stops

Pros
  • Provides an extra layer of security for backpackers staying in hostels
Cons
  • Can be expensive to replace if lost or stolen during travel

After being a victim of a an iPad thief at a cafe, I decided to purchase this product. It rolls up nicely and fits into my bag without adding too much bulk. It is a bit tedious to place your laptop and iPad in when you say, get up and go to the washroom or pick up your drink order, but hey, all it takes is a minute for someone to steal it. Small investment to save my large investment. Time consuming, but a huge deterrent and peace of mind.

Pros
  • Can fit multiple small valuables, such as wallets, phones, and passports
Cons
  • Extra precautions must be taken to ensure the lockbox isn't accidentally left behind or forgotten

Good concept, awkward and heavy

Bought this for my trip to the country of South Africa and I carried it in my luggage. It took up a lot of room and was heavy with a lock. I never needed to use it because there were safe's in the rooms I stayed in. I wish I had returned it right away and never took it with me. I know I will not take it anywhere again. Good concept but awkward and heavy.

Pros
  • 1.2 pounds
Cons
  • Not waterproof, so contents could be damaged if exposed to moisture

Peace of mind on my review.

This won't keep a professional bugler away, but your stuff should be safe from dishonest hotel employees. Smart design, lightweight for size, easy to pack (flat or rolled up)and easy to use.

Pros
  • TSA-approved locks for hassle-free airport security checks
Cons
  • Can be difficult to access if stored in a hard-to-reach spot, such as the bottom of a backpack

So far, great item in my review

Though my daughter didn't believe it couldn't be opened-she wanted to take a kitchen knife to it-and we didn't have any burglar try to break into it-I'm very satisfied with this. It offers real security for this traveler and is easy to use. Be sure to buy one bigger than you think you need. The one I have once held: an iPad, three cell phones, two small laptops. My son-in-law kept adding "one more thing".Got my own dialable lock, rather than a key I'd lose. Best idea I learned reading reviews.

Pros
  • Outpac Designes, Inc.- PACSAFE
Cons
  • Design may be unappealing to some users

Great Product - my new review

We recently ordered this Pacsafe Luggage Travelsafe as we travel to Mexico and Jamaica and we read in various reviews how safes in the rooms had items stolen from them so we thought we would give this a try. We have used it in 3 different resorts and found that no one attempted to try to get into it. It's a great product and we believe that it really does deter theft. It holds quite a bit and we have attached it to pipes, shower/tub immovable fixtures, etc. and it is easy to lock and unlock. We…

Pros
  • Excellent for international travel where theft is prevalent
Cons
  • Has the potential to be mistaken for a weapon or explosive device in certain situations

Great protection for your valuables

Used it during our overseas trip and had no in room safe. Used the bag and felt my thinks were well protected. Recommended this to my fellow travelers

Pros
  • Provides peace of mind while travelling
Cons
  • Not foolproof and can be potentially broken into with the right equipment

Holds my 15.4 " laptop and a 10.1 " Acer Netbook

I got this TravelSafe 12L and the smaller TravelSafe 100 for an upcoming trip. They're both built really well and seem very sturdy. The 12L can hold my 15.4" Toshiba and her 10.1" Acer. I highly recommend this for extra peace of mind.

Pros
  • Won't take up too much space in a backpack or suitcase
Cons
  • Not suitable for countries with different power outlets, as the charging cable may not be compatible

Peace of mind when leaving valuables behind

Look - this is probably not going to stop a thief with wire cutters. However, it would likely keep pesky maids from looking through your valuables when you leave them in a hotel room. Also, it makes it difficult for "snatch and grab" thieves at the beach, park, etc.I've used this often in hotel rooms. I loop it to a permanent fixture such as a sink, heavy bed post, etc. It's lightweight, easy to transport, and doesnt take up much space. I can easily fit a laptop in there, a watch…

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact for easy packing
Cons
  • May not fit in hotel room safes, rendering it useless in some situations

Works but the locking instructions are classically bad

This was an effective deterrent but the whole cable - grommet - lock thingy wasn't so intuitive. But I'm only a PhD. Work it before you go.

Pros
  • Can store prescription medication securely
Cons
  • Limited warranty may not provide adequate coverage for all potential issues

Just as described good for me

It seems to be great. It is not Fort Knox but it will deter snatch & grab theft of items which provides some peace of mind. May cause unnecessary stress and anxiety if contents are lost or stolen during travel.

Pros
  • Smart investment for frequent travellers concerned about their safety
Cons
  • May cause unnecessary stress and anxiety if contents are lost or stolen during travel

PacSafe 12L good for me

I used this on a recent trip and it worked as advertised. The bag was bigger than I thought it would be. I was able to put in the following items: netbook, ipad, ipod touch, GPS, several jewelry bags (sm), d200 with 80-200 lens - and I still had a some room left. It is quite easy to use. Instructions were easy to follow. You are provided 3 keys for the lock. I made sure other members of my family had the additional keys - just in case. Easy to carry in luggage. You roll the bag up with the lock

Pros
  • Prevents pickpocketing and theft
Cons
  • Lock can be easily picked, making it susceptible to theft

Holds iPad and more!

We bought this for a recent trip to the Caribbean. We had heard stories of in-room safes being opened by dishonest employees and didn't want to chance anything. It is much bigger than we thought. We were able to fit two iPads, a Kindle, two wallets, car keys, two iPhones, an iPod Touch and still had plenty of room for more.We secured the chain around a bed post and hid it behind the nightstand out of sight when we left the room.It came with 3 keys which we split up amongst us so we'd have…

Pros
  • Can store items up to 12 liters in volume
Cons
  • May not be as effective as other security measures, such as travel insurance or tracking devices

Won't travel without it

I will be traveling to West Africa, Macbook Air, external hard drive, video camera, and digital camera in tow. I can't imagine leaving my things without locking them up first. I trust Pacsafe. This bag is plenty big to fit all of the above, with room to spare. It is fool-proof in terms of how to lock it up - there is only one locking mechanism to close the top of the bag, so it's never left too far open for a sneaky hand to reach in. Material is sturdy, easily wiped down if dirty. This was…

Pros
  • It works very well. Used it for cars or travel to EU.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other lockboxes on the market

PacSafe Luggage Travelsafe

The Travelsafe worked very well-made me feel secure about leaving valuable objects in my hotel room. Probably should have read the instructions more carefully as to how to securely shut the drawstring but quickly got the hang of it. It was a little difficult to secure but figured out a way to close it quickly and easily. I loved how it could store both my Kindle and my MacAir plus any other valuables I brought. Also it packed flat going out. Upon returning I put some small items I bought in the

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • May not fit all types of luggage or backpacks securely

Pretty handy!: my feedback

Pretty handy!I saved money at a water park by using this rather than paying for one of their lockers. Also, it's more convenient because you can keep your stuff nearby rather than going back to the locker or your car. Also, no one has to babysit the stuff because it's locked.Another side benefit is that the material seems to repel water fairly well. Now, it's by no means waterproof (water can easily get in through the top of the bag) but I would have no fear of my electronics getting wet if…

Pros
  • Unisex-adult
Cons
  • The locking mechanism can be difficult to operate

Bought it for a Mexican vacation

Very large bag easily accommodates 3 pads of legal size paper. Wrapped the cable around a column in the hotel room. Felt confident leaving my passports and cash in the bag. Very happy with my choice.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Can be a hassle to open and close at security checkpoints

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well designed and provides some peace of mind

I like the way this bag is engineered: the fabric is thick with steel cable woven within, the locking mechanism is very clever, and the cable is long enough to secure around most objects. Obviously somebody with wire cutters or a saw could get into it, but I didn't buy it thinking it would completely secure the contents. I bought it knowing it's a theft deterrent and as such I am most pleased with this product.

Pros
  • Compatible with all types of locks
Cons
  • Can be difficult to use if not familiar with lockboxes or security protocols

I've lugged the Pacsafe 12L "safe" around the world a couple of times and it's been great. We used it in Europe last year to keep the hotel staff from filching our "safety cash" from the room. We used it just a few weeks ago for a family trip to New Orleans to store my iPad, 3 Nooks, my wife's jewelry, and some othe assorted stuff while we were out exploring. I used it in Russia to hold my iPad and an external hard drive with some important data on it so that the KGB wouldn't take it.It's hard…

Pros
  • Made with durable, water-resistant materials
Cons
  • Lacks ventilation, which could cause odors or mold to develop over time

Peace of Mind on my review.

We used the Pacsafe travel safe on our trip through Italy. We never worried about the things we left behind for the day. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • * smart exomesh cage system
Cons
  • Not suitable for high-end valuables that require a more secure storage option
