The socket broke for the third time today. Today I used an electric jack and repaired a punctured front tire on the passenger side. I used it to jack up the car and put the car on stands. No problem. But then I used it again to lift the car to remove the jack. It went wrong. The jack is PERFECT and badly BENT, and unfortunately that happened when I removed the jack stand. The sudden fall resulted in the jack post being punctured and damaging the lower plastic body of my car. plug in the jack. From the punched hole in the panel I saw a bent metal tube. You can imagine how scary it was to see the entire weight of the car resting on the jack on the plastic bottom plate. My advice is to only use the jack in an emergency. Not for domestic use. Your car can take a lot of damage when the tires are off. I had to call a tire shop to have the puncture repaired. Now I may have to spend a hundred dollars to make amends. Very upset that I made the wrong decision to service my car with a jack.
