Bottle leaks and belt jumps like crazy

I really wanted to love this hydration belt but unfortunately it's not for me. The problem is the water bottle, which is why I bought this belt. It flows and jumps. *leak* The leak isn't coming from the bottle's threads. It is in order. The problem is a very sensitive bite valve. The bite valve, by design, allows water to flow out when depressed. It's good for drinking, but bad for storing. When the bottle is pressurized (which of course happens when it's tucked into the back of your pants waistband), the bite valve compresses, causing water to slowly seep into the back of your belt and eventually into your shorts. Maybe this bottle design would work for someone with a wider back (to flex the bottle less), but leaks were a big issue for me. Despite the leak, I still wanted this strap to work, so I poured about half the water out of the bottle, tightened the strap, and gave it a try. I felt like a cartoon character with an old-fashioned bustle as my butt bounced weirdly with every step. It was awkward and I'm pretty sure I looked as ridiculous as I felt. I quickly dumped all the water out of the bottle, clipped it back into my belt, and finished my run with no water. (The strap doesn't bounce when the bottle is empty, but that defeats the purpose!) *iPhone X barely fits *I can fit my iPhone X with an apple skin case into the front zip pocket, but the headphone cable is quite tight/pinched there (worked , but over time I think the cable will break). If I'm just carrying my phone and gels, I prefer Nathan's low-tech waist strap as the front phone sleeve is much longer. (I can carry my phone in and out of a hipster while running. I couldn't with this zippered hydration belt pouch.) I'm glad this belt suits some runners as it's really well made and looks fancy with its reflective accents and Bag. It just doesn't work for me anyway. Today we return to Revane.
