Review on HGST Travelstar 500GB 2.5" 7200RPM SATA III HDD with 32MB Cache, 6Gbps SATA Interface (HTS725050B7E630) by ng Hong Dng ᠌

Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

Ordinary hard without anything special. It works, there are no errors during operation, the speeds are quite normal for a cheap disk. Only its noise of heads and air turbulence infuriates when the disk rotates inside, Windows constantly communicates with it even in idle time and this is wildly tired (perhaps someone will not care). . I cut out a piece of cardboard to fit the top cover of the disc and installed it in my travelmate p 259 mg. It became quiet and now you can not hear these whirlwinds of air there. Now it only crackles much quieter, but it is far from the level of wd2500lpcx. The temperature has become 43 degrees, but this is a normal state within the framework of a good temperature.

Pros
  • Thin, little heat, buffer 32 megabytes, 7200 rpm, not dead in 2 years, contact pads under the head did not go oxidized.
Cons
  • There is no support for noise control, it is noisy and very annoying at night or near the laptop.

Disk is great! It is better to put it in a stationary computer and not a 3.5-inch one - anyway, this one is faster even for theoretical reasons. Really too. As for reliability, we'll see.
