Updated a year later: The original rating is below. I thought my sealant died a few days ago. It no longer closed automatically and the vacuum worked continuously. Frustrated, I contacted the company and they gave me tons of troubleshooting tips that I will share here. I'm not sure why I had problems, but now it's working properly again. I may have had a tiny spot on the sponge pad. First class customer service! 1. Set the bag and try again. Make sure the open end of the bag is at the bottom of the vacuum channel. 2. Try another new bag, it can't suck out the air if the bag has a hole. 3. Check the bag along the closure band for wrinkles. To avoid folding the seal, gently stretch the bag by inserting the bag into the vacuum channel. 4. Open the device and make sure that the seals are installed correctly and that there are no foreign objects, dirt or debris on the top or bottom seal (vacuum floss). 5. Take out the vacuum floss, clean it and put the vacuum floss again around the vacuum channel. 6. If you store the device with the lid closed, the vacuum wool may be compressed. Release and wait 10 to 20 minutes for the vacuum cotton to expand. 7. Make sure the lid is closed when the vacuum pump runs and seals the bag. Otherwise, there will be leakage between the pops of the vacuum cleaner. Original Review: Don't be afraid to buy based on the low number of reviews. There are so many to choose from with the Revain, but this one had storage for bag rolls and a built in cutter. Not much, but I wanted it. I love how you open it up to fit in your pocket and how you can seal almost any plastic bag, even if it doesn't suck air out like potato chips or frozen veggies. I chose this seal because it works with my FoodSaver containers. and sealants for vessels. It works, but you get the best seal by holding down the tube seal button with your finger - once the tone of the sucking sound changes, the seal is done and you can let go. Not ideal, but not critical since this accessory was not even designed for this device. I like that it's small. Keep it in your desk drawer and it's small enough to pull out with one hand. I love this seal way more than my automatic FoodSaver seal that I had to feed.
