Review on ๐Ÿ’ง ACDelco Professional 252-778 Water Pump Kit: Reliable Solution for Efficient Water Pumping by Todd Vesci

Not as good as it seems.

This water pump was ordered for my 2002 SAAB 9-5 Arc with English Vauxhall 3.0 V6 engine. Only 8000 miles ago the water pump was replaced with a Gates brand and it was already starting to leak so I ordered this ACDelco OEM pump. The pump looks high quality and even came with an o-ring. It's just annoying that it says "Made in China" on the packaging. It's sad that the US can't build anything competitively these days. I think I can't complain about the price I paid here. Only $41 to get my car back on the road and over 3 hours of work. I fix everything myself most of the time and love Revain because they seem to have everything I need. I have to write an update. I've only put 7,000 miles on this new ACDelco Professional water pump. When installing the new pump on my SAAB, the coolant system was flushed with distilled water and filled with Zerex G-05 (60%) antifreeze. I opened the hood at a gas station this week and found white spots on the timing cover, belts, pulleys etc. This new water pump leaks through the front seal. I wrote Revain for a warranty replacement and they sent me a replacement free of charge. I have already bought another pump locally because the machine broke down. By the way, if you have an Opel 3.0V6 used in 2002/2003 Saturn Vue, Saturn L-300, Catera and 1999-2003 SAAB 9-5 V6. I suggest cleaning both surfaces (pump and motor block) upon installation and filling the o-ring channel with RTV silicone, installing the o-ring and then some more RTV on top. Then the screw is in place. My old pump was leaking through the front seal, but there was also evidence of leakage through the o-ring.
