Review on 🚴 SHIMANO Derailleur Cable End Cap X100 (Silver, 1.2-mm): Premium Quality Bike Cable Accessory by Mark Greenwood

Those that can be used for cycling

Genuine Shimano connectors outperform most regular connectors, I'm not kidding. I used to buy cheap bags but stopped doing that many years ago. The best caps have thicker walls and better fit the cable dimensions. This helps avoid crooked end caps, wire cutters actually cutting into cables, or cables getting pinched in the end caps. Good caps even look like a piece with a nice lip where the cable goes in (this also helps with handling). Of course, it is important to distinguish between the sizes of the shifter cable and the brake. Personally, I always use original Shimano caps for all SHIFT cables, but depending on the bike I often use cheap brake cable caps. If you want to crimp the caps nice with a specialized tool (like the Park CN-10 Crimp), Shimano is thicker and usually gives better results (looks nice and doesn't fall off). Although I usually don't care. I usually only crimp twice with side cutters. A good product. Would give 5 stars but for their relatively high cost.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
