I shudder to think how much money I've spent on video games and accessories over the years. A rule I've had since I got my first system (NES when I was 4 years old) is that with proprietary technology I ALWAYS buy the first batch, even if you pay more. You and your friend can buy seemingly identical third-party accessories, but they can be great and yours can be complete crap. The supply of quality third-party products is such that every time you get one is utter bullshit - maybe you're lucky and it works well, maybe not. And if not, good luck getting your money back. Unless I need something non-genuine (like a turbo controller) or something generic (a standard HDMI cable), I will always buy genuine products. That's why I bought them. Yes they are a little pricey which is why I gave them four stars instead of five. It would be nice if the Gamecube component cables were compatible with the Wii (they aren't) or if they came with the system (like the 360). Better yet, include an HDMI option in the system. But if you want 480p from the Wii, get an official Nintendo product or you might regret it later.
