I bought this set for my grandson after sitting down with him and sharing mine. My kit was almost three times the price but it really had everything a beginner or even travel kit would need. The quality is pretty good. The metal sharpener works well without breaking the leads. You can delay sharpening by using sandpaper. The paper quality in the sketchbook is average, but normal for graphite. The grandson was delighted. It's been 3 months and he still uses it almost every day. I am buying this again for my second grandson and it will be my gift to all my aspiring artist friends - young, old. Don't ask how old. The price is unbeatable, the quality is great.
