They can withstand temperatures of up to 500 °C! I bought these long oven mitts last February in a color to match my kitchen towels. I usually cook and bake a lot; even more so during our Covid-19 family stay this spring and summer. I bought these because I was tired of burning my hand when taking food out of the oven. They are very long and protected me well. Now I know they can withstand intense heat and don't emit noxious fumes if they catch fire due to my carelessness. Last Friday I used the oven and stovetop on my electric range to cook dinner. I was tired after a long day and used these gloves to clean whatever was in the oven and anything else that was on the burner. When removing this pot, I must have forgotten to turn off the stove and left a potholder on the stove. What I didn't realize was that I had left it on the burner, I couldn't turn it off. More than twenty minutes later, I returned to the kitchen to find the stove light was on and the oven mitt was over that stovetop. There was no smoke, just a faint smell. I saw the glove, turned off the burner and turned the glove over. The damage can be seen in the attached photos. Although it is no longer usable, there was no disaster, no fire department had to be called and only the glove was ruined! I am so happy and although I will now have 3 gloves I am excited to purchase another pair. Thank you Redmldeta!
