Review on 🎧 MEElectronics Clarity Series Black Ceramic In-Ear Headphone with iPhone/Smartphone In-Line Mic/Remote [Discontinued] by Cynthia Good

Great sound but poor usability (edit)

Bought these headphones based on some head fi reviews. I was very happy with the price, especially for headphones with a microphone. The monitors themselves are amazing. The sound is excellent and balanced with a slight emphasis on the bass. The monitors are also a bit heavy, but feel incredibly sturdy. The soundstage is great. I tested the headphones with ska, j-pop, grunge, classical, hip-hop, jazz, and pop and they excelled in all categories. Cord, on the other hand, is terrible. First, the connector looks very poor, although it's nice that it's L-shaped. There's an attached shirt clip that looks like it came from $5 headphones and couldn't be removed without damaging the cable, which was already flimsy and prone to tangling. The tangle was compounded by heavy monitors because you can't just tug on the cable to untangle them. Very frustrating. The microphone is also very poor unless you wear headphones behind your ear. With dangling cords it really pisses me off. The microphone and remote work with Siri, which is decent but difficult to use. If you wear the headphones behind your ear, it's impossible to see where the button to use the remote control is. This could have been fixed so easily by simply not making the button flush with the body of the device. Earphones get a 5/5, Remote/Mic get a 4/5, and Cable get a 1/5. were completely wireless, they would be ideal. Unfortunately, MEElec has decided to cut corners. The monitors have a great, beautiful design, but the cable and remote control are the Achilles' heel of this device. -------------- Edit: I'm returning them, I'm so disappointed with the cable. The white wire turns gray and the mic is so bad that I'd rather not listen to music on the go than use it. If you plan on using them at the table, pretend there are two more stars in this review. If you ever walk around listening to music, avoid at all costs.
