No instructions included so you have to guess and try different options. But even with proper use, the bottom divider doesn't stay in place and constantly falls to the side, reducing the frying chamber and increasing the nut chamber at the top. It doesn't separate them, very poorly designed/manufactured because once it falls down it becomes a great pain to fix and scare the pregnant mother and leaves access for the young fish to get into the mother's chamber and allow risk being eaten! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you intend to use it for roasts or single fish as it's very small! I find the air retaining side handles very handy, especially when the suction cups give it away, they keep the air aloft rather than falling into the tank!
