Review on Riparia Waterproof Backpack - AquaQuest 45L by Eric Chapman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

dry or not, simply the best travel bag.

This will be my 5th Aquaquest bag, the first in 2015 and still in good condition. Fantastic construction, the ripstop fabric is real but the main thing that keeps it from falling apart is the stitching. I've had many other dry bags with amazing waterproof ripstop material, but the one thing that ALWAYS lets them down is the stitching. Some of them are either glued, heat sealed, or poorly sewn. But these bags accompanied me to work during the summer holidays on the beaches of Greece and Hawaii, in the snow in New York and in Japan. I carry everything from clothes and shoes to a portfolio of 5x7 paintings (usually 4-5 at a time) as well as heavy marketing material and bound books. My 13 year old son uses the 25L for his Jr Lifeguard rides. The material is tear-resistant both outside and inside. The simple roll-up and buckle function saves you from annoying zippers. A simple rule of any design is that the fewer moving parts and features involved, the less likely it is to fail. These bags are just that - simple design, quality materials. This is an additional improvement over the original 30 liter version with an inner bin that slides out for easy cleaning and emptying. Plus an extra inside pocket! I love simplicity, but when it's indoors I really appreciate that extra space to organize small things so they don't fall on the floor. Love it. Plus, the size is perfect for carry-on and under the seat (although you can easily stuff it - use your discretion.) Did I also mention it's pretty darn durable? Airplane footrest, swing seat.
