Died less than 6 months later.

Everything worked fine at first, but less than six months later the device broke. All LEDs on the front of the device are blinking white and the power indicator on the back of the device is blinking red. It seems to be a general hardware or firmware issue. I registered my device on the NETGEAR website, but it says phone, email, and chat support have expired. I don't know how to contact them to get a replacement. When I click the Contact Support button on their website, the page it takes is…

Works as advertised

We have a Netgear Nighthawk R7900 router and 1GB internet speed. The PS4 only works on 2.5GHz WiFi in our house, and the maximum download speed is 23.1Mbps and the upload speed is 1.1Mbps. I installed a Netgear Nighthawk X6S Wi-Fi Extender in the back of my house next to my PS4 and saw a definite improvement. The extension cable can access the 5GHz signal, and then we connected the Ethernet cable to the PS4. Then the speed increased to 76.0 Mbps download and 3.3 Mbps download, which is three…

This is my second Netgear Extender. The previous model (AC1900 Nighthawk) worked well for several months. After about a year of turning Wi-Fi on and off again, I upgraded to this X65 mesh model to permanently fix this issue. This new extender worked for a few months, then its performance began to deteriorate as well. Decided to replace it under warranty. The new mesh extender I got didn't have a good 2.4GHz signal to begin with, but the 5.0GHz signal was "good", so I have all my devices at its…

Do not buy this product!

I consider myself a person with reasonable knowledge of setting up new IT products and equipment. At first I had no trouble connecting this extender to my home network when I bought it about 6 months ago (and it worked pretty well), but then I upgraded my home wireless network. That's when the problems with the company started. I tried reconfiguring the Netgear Extender by following all the recommended steps in the app to get my new wireless system up and running. I got to the point where my…

Pros
  • Outstanding overall performance

  • Infuriating

I am using this with a NETGEAR Nighthawk X10 router. I set up the X6S in AP mode (because it performs better than normal extender mode) and it was great. I love the One WiFi Name and Smart Roaming features. Setup was very easy (I used the web interface on my iPhone) and it improved the one part of my house that needed a stronger signal. The entire house is covered by strong Wi-Fi coverage and there is no noticeable drop in performance anywhere in the house. I ran about 30 speed tests (10 per…

Unable to maintain connection to wireless router

This seemed promising when it worked. It wasn't very long. I originally bought one of these on eBay at a discount and returned it thinking I had been sold a faulty unit. Then I bought another brand new one from Revain here and ran into the exact same problem. : The device works for a while, then disconnects and refuses to reconnect until reset. This is unacceptable and I will return it. I have a Nighthawk X4S wireless router in the main house and needed to connect across 30 feet of the yard and

In less than two months it has become an expensive paperweight.

When I received my Netgear EX8000, I set it up. Setting up your wireless network devices has become very easy and only takes a few minutes. It did exactly what you would expect from a range extender. The range was better than I expected and covered a larger area than other extensions I have used or installed for clients. Literally after 2 months I noticed a significant drop in signal strength. Looking at the EX8000, I noticed that all of the lights were blinking green at the same time. Then I…

Mesh X6S Extender works well for networking products

This review is for the Netgear Tri-Band Mesh X6S. I bought this extender to increase the range of my existing router. The guide to setting up the extender is quite simple. However, when I turned it on to set it up, all the lights on my router were blinking, not just the one WPS light like the manual says. I had to turn it off and on again to see if only the WPS light came on. No, you just have to wait for it and let it set it up. The connection took some time (about 5 minutes). The 2.4 GHz band

Works well with R7000 router

This review relates to the EX8000. The expansion kit includes a power supply and instructions. I bought it direct from Revain not a third party after seeing it for sale here for $159.00 which I think is a decent deal for this expander. I refrained from buying this because I thought the original price of 299 when it was first released was too high as it cost as much or more than most high end routers. The included instructions are pretty basic, but once I figured out how to enable WPS on my…
