Not suitable for hamster

I bought this for our hamster - but there were too many 'sticks' - sticking out inside, outside and round. Since hamsters have inherently poor eyesight and can easily injure their eyes with sticks, I thought this was a bad idea for our environment. Also, the tube was very thin and didn't seem able to accommodate a large animal, maybe a guinea pig? or rabbit?
