Review on JBL Clip 4: Portable Mini Bluetooth Speaker with Big Audio, Punchy Bass, and Carabiner - Gray by Agustin Bush

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The newly designed clip part is more convenient to use and should be safer. Love clip JBL 4

Clip 4 is finally here. The jbl 3 clip was a big hit, I'm a fan and owner. Very strong, took a lot and never let me down. But that pesky unreliable clip/carabiner gave me trouble and eventually failed and fell off. A lot of pain in the back as there was nowhere to attach it securely but otherwise it worked. So I had to get a 4 clamp and maybe donate my old 3. So here are some of the key things that caught my eye next. 1. The size and weight are not much different between them2. The power button and Bluetooth are swapped.3. 3 buttons have been pressed, there is something on the top four on the fabric to press these buttons.4. No more headphone jack on charger at 4, just USB Type-C at bottom. No more Micro USB!5. The padding on the back has been changed to fabric with rubber strips (more on that later)6. The clip/carabiner/hook has been redesigned, more convenient to use in my opinion.7. Yes, this wobbly pin has been fixed, look at the photos.8. The battery performance and 10-hour rating did not change from 3 to 4.9. Bluetooth is now 5.110. Clip 3 has an output power of just over 3w, jbl claims 4 maxes out at 5w now. So yes, a lot has changed, but it's still the clip you know and love. Another big change is the speaker and passive radiator, that you can't see. So, Clip 3 has a tiny speaker and an oval passive radiator in the front. But now it seems to me that there have been big changes. The Clip 4 still has a speaker in the front (40mm according to jbl), but now has a (most likely) larger passive radiator in the back. This seems to be the reason for the fabric and striped rubber on the back. At high volume I can feel some air pressure from behind. If you hold both, one in each hand, you'll have trouble noticing the difference in weight. Now, while the size hasn't changed much, the shape has. In my opinion the wider lower clip profile 4 would be more useful in the real world. With my old Clip 3 there were situations in which the high, but slightly narrower clip didn't fit, but was still close enough to get stuck in the desired spot. Sound. You don't hear a noticeable difference in the mids and highs, but the bottom end seems to get a little deeper, it's a little fuller, a little more brittle in the vocals, like in the podcast for example. When I crank the volume up past 80 percent it's just a tad loud, just a small gap that I don't hear very often at 3. I don't go to this volume very often, so it's not a problem for me. addressed. Check out the photos. The stylus is barely visible, and the front grille is designed to be less of a weak point. Will it work over time? Haven't noticed any difference in battery level yet as I'm unemployed, but will be back to work soon and the new jbl clamp is getting its daily training. The new clamp 4 is IP67 rated so I expect it to be as strong and roomy as the third. The third clamp passed pavement, soil, high and low pressure water, chemicals and soap and never had a problem. If there are any problems, I will update this review. Please see my photos to get an idea of how 4 to 3 fits.
