Pump works despite suspiciously low price

Bought this pump to replace a 2001 GMC Sierra with a 4.8 liter V8 engine. To be honest I was suspicious of how cheap it was. For those wondering, getting my truck into the shop to fix would have cost just under a thousand dollars with the pump alone running anywhere from $150-$250. Replacing him wasn't easy, but it wasn't difficult either. or. You can use an impact wrench, a pry bar, a 19mm socket and a Phillips screwdriver to replace the fuel pump. I had to remove the pickup platform (which is actually not that hard. Just eight 19mm screws on the underside in fairly easy to access spots) to get to it. Once this is done the steel retaining bracket's plastic latch must be pressed in before you can unscrew it (this required a hammer and chisel to get it to turn as it was stuck there with something good. Please note, that you will most likely have to hammer on the locking ring as turning it by hand is next to impossible due to the rubber o-ring at the top of the pump) After the ring was removed I had to disconnect the fuel lines (video on this) . since everything is different so as not to confuse them) and pull out the old pump. It's empty so be aware you will have gas sludge on you. Do not smoke or do anything with the flame or spark during this phase. The new pump fitted perfectly and looked almost identical to the old one. BE SURE TO REMEMBER TO INSTALL THE NEW RUBBER BUSHING BEFORE INSTALLING THE PUMP. Also remember that you will need to make small electrical modifications to one of your wiring harnesses. My truck is made in Canada so the schematic wasn't quite right, but with three of the four wires the correct color the elimination process went a long way. Once that's done, quickly turn the key back and forth five times to boot the system and you should be good to go. I was. The pump is working two weeks later and I don't expect any problems. In that case, I'll update this review and contact the manufacturer, but I don't see any issues with that. UPDATE: two months later and this pump is still working great. It is quiet, functional and delivers fuel to the engine without any problems.
