I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

I have been using two pieces at once since 2022, they were bought as part of an expensive and high-quality gaming laptop ASUS ROG G750JH. Three years ago I transferred the OS to an SSD, because loading Windows from the HDD is still slow. This year I transferred them to a large and quiet system unit, now I'm going to buy a pair of 2.5" instead of the buzzing NAS 3.5". Now, for the most part, they just spin idle, after all, 6 years for any HDD is a long time and it’s time for them to be replaced in workloads (losing data due to a possible failure is quite unpleasant, even with backups). And so - they are used as a quiet, cold local storage.

Pros

- Quiet, the heads do not crack, in a closed case only a slight rustle of motors is heard, as if a fan is spinning, which is not at all like the annoying hum of 3.5" drives (I have a good case with insulation, rubber bands and heavy baskets). - Cold, do not heat up above 35 degrees under load (with ventilation), idle 28. - Reliability. Operating time 15-17 thousand hours (this is an average of 7 hours a day for 6 years in a row). I don’t know, there are a lot of negative reviews here, apparently mostly those who are unlucky complain. Pah-pah-pah, I haven’t had a single failure for many years inside the cramped and hot case of a gaming laptop - and these are games, video encoding and a lot of terabytes of data copied back and forth in tens of gigabytes a day (audio and video editing, very convenient render source files from one HDD to the second). Normally hold torrents. Once I dropped a laptop in a bag on the pavement, fortunately with an edge, otherwise neither the disks nor the laptop would have survived. There were no errors after that.

Cons

- It's pointless to use with Windows 10 as a system disk, 10 does too many operations for ANY HDD. However, this is obvious and not even a minus, it's just that initially the laptop was sold with two of these HDDs. - The speed is low. They are good for storage and linear recording, but with active work you have to wait . wait . wait.
