The edges have been roughly trimmed so the usable size is only about 11.25". I had to cut off the rough parts. I want to cut the fat off the steak. I don't expect to have to do the same for something advertised as 12" square. As a result, I have to work harder to precisely cut and cut a thin strip of unusable material. Maybe it's the "industry standard" to truncate them to 11 and 7/8, but is it the "industry standard" to truncate them so badly that the usable size is even smaller than 11 and 7/8? Next time I'll just order a larger sheet from Home Depot and cut it myself.
