Works just as well as a real welder. I bought it as a last resort because I couldn't get a real WP-9 from my local welding consumables store and needed it fast. I will keep buying them now. As with other copies of the WP-9, the rear cover does not sit flush with the back of the torch head. But everything is well condensed and twisted. I use it every day, but I only bow my head when necessary. This is a good buy.
