Review on πŸ“Έ THINKWARE X700 Dual Dash Cam: Front and Rear 1080P FHD Car Camera with G-Sensor, Sony Sensor, GPS, and Night Vision – Includes 16GB & Optional Parking Mode by Luke Cotton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great DVR for the price

I had a Thinkware X350 that lasted 2.5 years but died. It wouldn't turn on due to a blown fuse, but after replacing the fuse it still wouldn't turn on. Since I already had a wired kit from a previous NVR, I wanted to get another Thinkware NVR. I have the X700 which is almost the same as the X350 but there are many new features but I miss the Wi-Fi from the X350. It was as easy as turning on the dash cam's WiFi to upload videos to your phone via the Thinkware app. The X700 does not have this feature. So if you want to save a video, you need to take out the memory card and insert it into your computer. , it will record video while parked when it detects movement or impact with your vehicle. This is one of the most valuable features and I don't know why nobody wants to program it. If someone breaks or hits your vehicle, you'll be notified if anything happened while you were away. Then you can watch the saved video. In both continuous mode and parking mode, the camera records 10 seconds before the incident and 10 seconds after the incident. The image quality during recording is very good, even at night. It comes with a GPS attachment that records your speed and location, a 16GB micro SD card and most importantly, a reversing camera that can be mounted on the rear window. The rear camera needs to be attached to the glass with 3M double sided tape, but I have a pickup truck with tinted windows and didn't want them to stick to my tint. So I'm still figuring out how I'm going to mount the rear camera. I connected the rear camera to the main unit, the image quality is excellent. The memory card could be bigger. I used a 64GB card instead, so it stores about 2 days of footage before overwriting it with new footage. So the included 16GB will probably only store about 1 day of video before it's overwritten. But for this price you get a lot for your money. I'm giving it 4 stars out of 5 because it doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi, but other than that it's a great dash cam with lots of features and good video quality.
