Installation is troublesome, you have to disassemble half of the hair dryer. The element itself was bent in the box, I straightened it and it fits. Only one of the sensors fits my Whirlpool Duet dryer. One sensor proved good but the OEM part has an extra connector that obviously goes to the control board, the secondary sensor didn't have that extra connector, Sony didn't use it and kept the old OEM connector. My dryer is working again, hope the item lasts. A note. The hair dryer didn't stop working at all but we smelled burnt so we turned it off. Upon opening the dryer the entire bottom of the dryer was covered in 1/4 inch lint which caught fire. The motor, the element, the sensors, everything was covered in sticky, smelly, charred lint. The outer vent cover was blocked and not working properly. Moral of the story: clean the outside vent of the dryer and run a brush through the tubes from time to time to clean the vent. Your home and family will thank you. The dryer will not catch fire.
