I pull this thing on my arms, legs etc and pull hard to see what it is. It looks a lot worse than it really is and it has really helped me be more in control of my dog when we are away from home. It's not easy to put on and take off, but that doesn't detract from the effectiveness of this collar. She literally strangled herself with another training collar and I had to carry her knocked out body home. Straps rub them red and damp, straight/flat collars also suffocate them. Run with it for the first time? Well, it's awkward, but she's a lot calmer. She tries to pull and stops. She worries a bit if we're not fast enough, but I'd rather see her whimper a little than gasp any more.
