Lids should be dishwasher safe but are shrunk and won't fit in containers. FIX: I was very wrong about the lids. They have a silicone seal, sit on top of the glass jar and seal airtight once the lids are closed. I was wrong in thinking that the edges of the lid should go past the rim of the container. I wanted to get rid of all my plastic containers that I can't use for microwave cooking because the plastic gets damaged. These sealed glass containers are ideal. I don't need a special lunch box as I can put it in my purse or laptop bag and it won't leak. And they're proven to be microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. Highly recommended.
