I bought these to use with a cordless drill but the shaft is 1/4 inch too long for the locking mechanism on my DeWalt to not engage could and hold the wave. I compared the shank to my other bits and found the shank to be too long. I had to use a cutting wheel to cut off 3/8 to 1/4 which allowed the snap ring to snap into place. Now that I can use it I'm trying to polish my saddlebag on my Harley and WOW! The amount of fibers that flew off the buff was amazing! Looks like a lint catcher from 20 clothes dryers got thrown on my bike! It was just amazing how much the wheels peeled off. The wheel polished well, but the fibers! I would suggest before using any of the buffing wheels that you spin it against something that rubs off easily. This should remove most of the buffing wheel's loose flying fibers!
