Review on Professional 360°Panoramic Horizontal Camcorders Telephoto by Omar Bokil

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Really heavy and very well made. But the camera is not mounted in the middle.

I've had many panoramic tripod mounts. You need at least two adjustments. Front to back and side to side. They must be side by side so the lens can be centered over the pivot point of the head. There's no lateral adjustment and for some reason it's about 1/2 inch out. Just look at "parallax point" or "node point". If you're taking multi-row shots, you need to be able to adjust the height. The head is only intended for mounting the camera in landscape format. Panning to more distant objects works, but the closer you get the more parallax the photo will get since it's not centered. So for shooting a panorama I would give it a 3 stars. For multi-row, this is useless. If you just need a sturdy tripod head that can rotate in two axes, this is a good choice. The head is made almost entirely of powder-coated aluminum and the critical parts are stainless steel. Sizing wise, it *just* fits my full-size DSLR. The distance from the mounting screw to the closest part of the tray is 2.25 inches. Because the tray has a thick corner support where it connects to the vertical rail, it takes up almost 1/2 inch of space. I see it can be used to support a camera with a heavy lens and still retain the ability to move it in two axes if you need to fix the camera to pan for example.

Cons
