I love this set and just bought another one. A very complete kit for felt beginners. I like the convenience of portability and the compact and organized storage. I am far from new to this craft and repurchased this item for its value and quality. There is no way to buy this stuff at the best price per piece. Just the storage container or the type and amount of wool will cost you the same. Great purchase and I will be buying more of these. Highly recommended for beginners or experienced felters. This would make a great gift for everyone on your list and a great way to get started needle felting (you don't need anything to get started except youtube instructions or a pintrest template (some of which are free) which are by far the best Kit I found, pre assembled and needle felted - this is my "thing" believe me I've seen it all. Buy it. From the beginner to the well hardened walker you won't regret what you did .Higher quality item than most starter kits (better scissors and better color coded needles), the box is small, but great for travel and the wool sheds quickly and beautifully. (Some of them are free) This is by far the best kit I've found pre-assembled and felting is my thing, believe me I've seen it all.
