Mixed opinions about it. I've had two for over a year, one on my trail bike and one on my XC. Pressure from other drivers convinced me to replace them "or I die". So I replaced them with Truvativ stems and the Wake stems now live on my friend's XC and we borrowed friends' spare XCs. They are now used on multiple bikes and in a variety of riding conditions, including steep slopes and small jumps. There is no visible wear on the bars. Maybe I was lucky because I only heard horror stories from other racers. Or maybe people are over-tightening the bolts or using poor suspension settings that amplify the stem/handle forces. I do not know. They've worked well for me hence they get a 5 but I'm happier with the name recognition/reliability/and overall look of the Truvativ stems I've switched to.
