Review on Zink Polaroid Snap Instant Digital Camera (Red) With ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology by Kevin Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much happier we chose Snap over the FUJI Instax which my sister kept talking about.

Much happier we chose the Snap over the FUJI Instax my sister kept talking about. Why? let me count the ways 1) You get a classic Polaroid instant print (perfect wallet size, btw) AND a digital image to share, post, and do anything else to show your kids you're cool and living in the past. All you get with Fuji is printing, whether you like it or not. 2) You tell the camera what to print and how much, not the other way around. If I got a dime for every crappy picture that popped out of my dad's Van Step, I'd have a lot of dimes. My wife says the "anticipation" - testing whether it was worth saving - was part of the fun. I say I'd rather save money knowing I can choose what to print. Of course, if we're in the "retro" mood, you can set it to the classic automatic print. 10 Instax Prints (Like Them Or Not) For $9.99 you get 20 Polaroid SNAP Prints (and YOU get to choose them before you print!) I don't care if you're Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump, why pay nearly a dollar a picture to print with fuji when polaroid prints are half the size? 4) Really cool brand. Really cool memories. The reason we got snap was so my non-digital grandma could leave my uncle's surprise party with some real photos, but when everyone realized our SNAP was not only polaroid in name but also polaroid in instants, everyone asked us about deductions. plus everyone over 20 "had a history of Polaroid" (not G or PG), people seem to have seen the name, the cool little "rainbow stripe" and the photos that came out. and history too. 5) Good for business. I work in the hospitality industry and although everything is digital these days, you'd be surprised how many customers love getting a print or two of their custom birthday cake or sushi dish. Plus, the snap is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket without making it look like I'm carrying a gun. Will my Snap replace my iPhone? Hardly. It takes a little getting used to at this point, as with any conventional type of camera. And while it doesn't have an LCD screen, the flip-up 'optical' (glass-like) viewfinder does a great job. although it REALLY reminded me of some video games from my wasted youth. It gives me an option when I'm in places where I don't want to waste my phone's battery but want to be able to take and share real photos, not just digital ones. PLUS my Fuji fanatic sister can't believe we made the wiser choice and went with the Polaroid Snap.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Nothing
