Okay I bought these for the dimming function. I have a few minor issues with the product that may be unique to my application. First, they darken up to 10%, which is great, but I'd like a little more. (then it could work as a night light) The second is the style of the lamp. It's stylish, but it's a problem because you can retrofit a stock bracket, the rounded ends of that bracket may expose some old mounting holes. (and if you have a fuzzy roof like I do, it leaves a slightly compressed outline.) I used one to replace an original fluorescent tube that had been replaced. This device works normally if left on, when it is turned off and then powered up there is a short flash from the device, so the manufacturer does not recommend using this device on a switching line. (If the device stays on, I don't notice any problems.)
