An excellent tool as a service advisor.

As a service advisor, this is a great tool to have in your arsenal when you need to quickly test a battery and give a customer a hard copy. Of course, we have professional snap-on battery testers in store, but we will never find them when we need them in a hurry. So it definitely helps to have a personal item on hand. Overall it works great, just as accurate as our snap-on tester, but at a great affordable price. The reason it gets 4 stars instead of a full 5 star rating is that it can definitely be improved. I understand this is a budget tester that comes with a printer when competitors are charging more than twice as much for a printer, but small things could have been done better. "Stubborn body" which is definitely not a case in the description, it's just hard molded plastic. A little rubber grip on the sides would be nice. Speaking of the case, a magnet on the back would have been handy to keep cables under control and attach it to the body plate during the test. The printer sells very well, but it is a bit weak in this unit. The paper feed slot is not very big, and the paper rolls back in the body, so you need to open the cover, to take out the printout, or need to pull out some paper first before printing. A bigger tray or a paper feed button would be nice. And the last thing you can't print the readings of the alternator or starter. The only thing that can be printed is the battery level. Given the presence of a printer, I would say that this was a big oversight.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Mostly fine, but...
