I ordered them for a winter formal we were having. I tried them when they arrived and they worked, I only had them on for a few seconds. Then the day of the dance I tried them and they worked but when we went to decorate they would no longer work and there was a burnt smell coming from them. I should give this thing 4 stars but it annoys me. It worked perfectly straight out of the box but is too big for a birdbath. I was so looking forward to it. These are very nice looking bulbs but definitely are not a 60 watt light. I took out a regular 60 watt out of my dining light and put this in and it’s half the light. Very useful, especially when stripping wire in awkward places, like a short wire hanging from the ceiling. Note that it does not come with directions. I had to figure out for myself that the silver knob twists to increase tension on the grippers so that you can go from fat wires to thin ones. I got then the right size for length, but I should have gotten the wider width. I have had to find a new insole solution to make up for this, but it has worked out well. There are 3 temperature settings for 3 different kinds of cups (glass, ceramic and metal) I always keep mine to the highest setting because my ceramic cups have semi flat bottom.
