Intel i7 8700 (no k) stock cooler vs Hyper T2

I recently built a new computer primarily for gaming and decided to forego overclocking to save some money by using decided on the i7 8700 (no k). I wasn't planning on buying an aftermarket cooler, but the 8700 ran too hot to comfortably use the stock heatsink. graphics settings. These were my results, yours may vary by case and settings. The i7 8700 peaked at 85C while playing Battlefield 5 for 1.5 hours with the default cooler and paste. It's technically safe, but UAV. Temperatures throughout the game mostly stayed in the 60's and low 70's. The idle temperatures with the stock cooler fluctuated between 29-32 degrees Celsius. With Hyper T2 and a 10 year old Arctic Silver 5 lamp, temperatures peaked at 70 degrees after 1 hour of playing BF5. The temperature during the game mostly stayed between 40 and 60 degrees. The idle temperature with Hyper T2 fluctuates between 25-30c. The noise level of the included fan is quieter than my case's fan until it reaches about 60% speed. I can't even hear it when surfing the web. It's quite loud in games, but that doesn't bother me. Most of the time I play with headphones, otherwise the speakers and subwoofer will explode and shake the walls. This cooler is sufficient for my purposes. It's probably fine if you need something compact, too. If you overclock and have space, invest in a larger cooler. Also, as others have said, installing the pins was a bit of a hassle, one of them was bent and almost broken. I had to make more than 3 attempts to get everything in place. First remove the fan from the heatsink and reinstall it after the heatsink is installed on the board. This seemed to help by giving more room to press straight down. If the CPU burns out or the heatsink ever falls off or whatever, this rating will be updated accordingly. CX650m PSU16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX500GB Crucial MX500 SSDWindows 10 Home 64-bit
