When you spend a lot of money on noise-cancelling headphones, what is one of the most important features? Answer: noise reduction. This is a very neat feature that allows you to customize noise reduction. Sometimes I find myself in a situation where I want to hear background noise. But with noise-cancelling turned on at its highest level, I can still clearly hear surrounding noises (like conversations or other music) — unless I turn the music up to full volume to drown out those noises. There are other nice features: Voice control. , Cortana, the headphones detect when you take them off and pause the music. But none of them make up for the lack of decent noise-cancellation - not for headphones this expensive. Maybe Microsoft will release firmware that updates the noise cancellation - in which case I'll give it 5 stars out of 5. Until then, I recommend Bose headphones that are comparable in price.
