Review on EATON RDC15-W-K Combination Switch, 1.5 Amp, 300 Watt, Single Pole, White by Stephen Parkell

During our living room renovation we decided to install new fans and light controls in our living room. The old one worked fine but the new white one will improve the look. The first one I ordered didn't work on the third fan position. The fan just stopped. I ordered a new switch thinking it was just a bad block. The second worked fine, all fan settings worked. I left the fan on position 3 for a few minutes to do something else. When I came back I was about to put the switch back in the switch box and the switch was very hot. I could barely touch it. I don't want anything that hot in the electrical box in the wall. I went to a big store and bought a different brand of switch and it works and there are no heat issues at all. Not sure what's wrong, it's just a standard ceiling fan and I've double checked my wiring. I sent both switches back.
