This would be better over a lining or lining as it is thin and fine mesh. a little transparent and slippery when put directly on the dining table. The color is rich and deep, the folds smooth out quickly. Good tablecloth for the price. When you have tablecloths at regular retail prices, you know they are cheap. Mine is sitting on my large dining table decorated with a fall style centerpiece for Thanksgiving and it looks amazing. For this price you can get multiple colors.
