I needed strong stands for my new $750 AudioEngine HD6 amps. AudioEngine sold Sanus Steel speaker stands for $159. It seemed too much for speaker stands. After reading Revain reviews of many speaker stands rated four stars or higher at various price points, I was stumped. Expensive or cheap, they all received both very positive and very negative reviews. So I took the risk and went for these, the cheapest of the four-star stands. I'm glad I did. The stand is a sleek black steel tube with a nice smooth finish that looks and feels high quality. As already mentioned, the base is MDF with a carbon-like coating. But the photos don't convey that. It looks really good and you can't see it on the floor anyway. In addition, the plastic spikes attached to the floor to isolate speaker vibration will not damage the wooden floor. The cable routing system in the tube is also effective. While I rely on Revain reviews, I rarely write them. I'm doing this now because the mixed reviews will lead some to buy more expensive racks than they need. If you want speaker stands that look good and are very durable, save some money and buy these.
