This rating is about fit, not crashworthiness. I have very wide feet and very high feet. Some might say the legs of a caveman. I also have very thick ankles and massive calves. I wear a 10 1/2 EE/EEE in the United States and was able to wear the Sidi CF3 SRS by ordering a size 11.5 US / 46 EU / Red/Black. If you have my very wide and high feet, don't be discouraged by everyone else on the internet telling you this doesn't fit the width. Just wear a full size up and the extra sock length isn't a problem as the boot restricts movement.
