One of the best teleconverters I have ever used. I would even go so far as to say that the new Sigma 1.4x TC-1401 teleconverter performs even better with the Sigma 150-600 Sport than the Nikon TC 1.4x on Nikkor telephoto lenses. Sigma Sport 150-600 + Sigma TC-1401 vs. Nikkor 200-500 + Nikon TC-14E III was an interesting competition. After several days of shooting with my colleague, the Sigma Sport and TC-1401 was the clear winner. Autofocus is fairly quick, although the Sigma Sport focuses faster without the TC-1401. Using this teleconverter turns the Sigma Sport into an f/9 lens on the D4S / D810. Tracking remains good and acceptable overall, but a slight drop in performance should also be noted here, but that doesn't prevent using this combo for normal activities and birds in flight. At f/9 wide open, the images remain fairly clear and sharp, as you can see in my example (look at the lashes). In normal daylight and if you can shoot at f/9, it's not a problem. You get 840 mm full format! It will definitely stay in my camera bag as a universal backup for my 600mm Nikkor.
