TC-1401 adds good extra range and allows you to take good photos. It's good. The bad news is that it affects a lot of different things in your camera settings. Spot autofocus sometimes hangs and sometimes doesn't focus at all. Losing the ability to track a moving object is also a bummer. I bought the Sigma TC-1401 teleconverter because Canon teleconverters cannot be used with Sigma lenses and Canon cameras, but Sigma TC can be used with both Sigma lenses on Canon cameras and Canon lenses used on Canon cameras.
