This is an excellent teleconverter for the modern Sigma 150-600mm lens. Even at f9 it has autofocus. Note that this reduces the maximum aperture but still produces sharp images. When shooting wildlife or sports, for which they are typically used with long lenses, it can be difficult to achieve shutter speeds fast enough that bright light is required. I use this teleconverter on Sigma 150-600 Contemporary on Nikon D7100. Please note that it ONLY works with three lenses marked by Sigma, namely 150-600 sport and modern lenses and 120-300 sport lenses. So don't buy this teleconverter with the intention of using it on all or any of your other lenses. Also, Sigma makes another 1.4x TC, but it costs less money and is NOT the same as this one. Make sure you get TC-1401. I tried a different TC when the clerk at the photo store gave me the wrong one. The autofocus was very slow and not that sharp. Luckily the price is $100 less so that got me alarmed. When I indicated I wanted the TC-1401, I attached it to my lens and it was MUCH sharper and faster to autofocus. I've attached two photos, one cropped from the other, otherwise NO editing i.e. sharpening, clarity etc was not done. The TC was mounted on a Sigma 150-600C lens on a Nikon D500 body set at f9, 1/320.
